Ella es tan Cargosa se formó a mitad del año 2000 en el Oeste del Gran Buenos Aires. Los primeros shows tuvieron lugar en la zona de Castelar e Ituzaingó.
El nombre es un homenaje a Los Beatles, por la canción "I want you, she's so heavy", aunque el sonido de La Cargosa sea un rock más crudo.
Gira veraniega de por medio, consiguieron aumentar considerablemente sus seguidores, hasta presentarse como soporte de León Gieco en Morón, antes más de tres mil personas.
En el 2004 concretaron dos shows en La Trastienda, en Capital, y al año siguiente hicieron cuatro presentaciones en El Condado, en Palermo.
A fines del '06 grabaron su placa debut, producida por Germán Wiedemer (pianista y arreglador de Memphis La Blusera), lanzada por Tocka discos a comienzos del 2007.
